Lake House Fetch: An Overcast Afternoon

This shoot spanned only about 15 minutes but I shot everything about f/4.0, 1/640, ISO 400, which is significant because before this, I was shooting mostly wide open at f/1.8. By using f/4.0, it increased my depth of field and was much easier to get both Beamer and Blu’s heads in focus.

Using a higher ISO than ISO 100 during the daytime is also notable as before this, I was always hesitant to adjust my ISO because I didn’t want to introduce any grain to the image. My Canon 90D shows noticeable grain at ISO 800, so I felt comfortable leaving it at ISO 400 for this set of images.
